Bring Your Own Imagery

Run the same analysis and review workflow on your own drone, aerial, or purchased imagery.

  • Remote Sensing enabled on your plan
  • Before and after GeoTIFFs with red and near-infrared bands

Monitors don't have to run on satellite imagery. Pick "My own imagery" in the wizard and the same analysis, review, and evidence workflow runs on GeoTIFFs you supply.

Set it up

In the wizard's "Imagery" step, choose the "My own imagery" card. The step expands:

  1. "Upload GeoTIFF" — upload your files, or skip this if they're already in your workspace.
  2. "Baseline images (before)" and "Current images (after)" — tick which files go on each side of the comparison.
  3. "Red band" and "Near-infrared band" — tell Tamaat which band is which in your files. They have to be different bands, and the wizard will stop you if they aren't.

There's no baseline period to set — your "before" files are the baseline.

Settings come from your files

A monitor built this way is defined by the imagery you gave it, so its settings stay as they are — "Edit monitor" explains this and points you at adding new imagery from the monitor instead. To change the comparison or the area, create a new monitor with the files you want.

When to use your own imagery

Reach for this when you need finer detail than satellite gives you, when you already own the exact before/after pair you care about, or when you controlled the timing — you flew the site when it mattered rather than waiting on a revisit and clear skies.

Stay on satellite when you want a standing watch that keeps checking on its own, season matched against season, without you doing anything.
