Tamaat AI is a project-aware assistant, not a generic chatbot. It answers questions about the layers, features, and attributes in your open project — your real data — and it tells you plainly when the data to answer isn't there.
Where it lives
The assistant is a floating "Tamaat AI" panel in the Maps pane. Close the pane and it closes with it, clearing any highlights it put on the map.
Its header carries a status badge. Ready means a provider is connected and you can ask away; Setup Needed means you haven't added a key yet.
Bring your own key
Tamaat AI runs on a model provider you connect yourself — OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google — with your own API key, entered once in Settings and encrypted. Until you add one, the chat tells you: "Tamaat AI isn't configured yet. Add a provider API key in Map settings → AI to get started."

How it connects
What the assistant finds can be pinned as layer analytics widgets, and results can be saved as layers you use anywhere in the project.
Does Tamaat AI edit my map?▾
Only when you tell it to. It reads and explains your data; editing, styling, and creating layers stay in your hands. The one thing it can add is a saved result, and only when you click to save it.
Which model does it use?▾
Whichever you configure. Bring a key for OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google and pick your model in Settings.
