Spatial tools
Use spatial tools when the answer depends on geographic relationships (for example proximity or overlay-style work available in the product):
- Open the analysis / spatial tools entry from the map workspace.
- Choose the tool that matches the question.
- Select input layers and required parameters.
- Run the tool and inspect the result on the map or as a promoted output when the workflow supports it.
Prefer selection and measurement first when they already answer the question.
Print layout
Print Layout exports a composed map PDF in the browser:
- Open Print Map from the Explorer project menu (not from Project Settings).
- Configure heading, legend, scale, north arrow, and overview as needed.
- Preview the layout so text and overlays do not overlap.
- Export — Tamaat composites the map snapshots and overlay chrome into a PDF download.
There is no server-side print pipeline and no window.print() path for this export.
Common errors
- Empty heading still shows a box — clear the text to remove the frame; placeholders are not exported.
- Overlapping legend and title — use auto alignment or drag overlays so bands do not collide.
- Blurry map in PDF — wait for capture-ready / idle before export so the compositor has full-resolution snapshots.
