What separates the types is the shape of the question a caller can ask.
Data query
Serves rows from your data as JSON, filtered on the parameters you expose. Reach for this when another team needs your data as a service — a registry lookup, an asset inventory, a reference table their application queries as it goes.
They only ever see the contract you designed, never the underlying data.
Flow
Runs a reusable flow on the data each caller sends, and returns the results as files. Reach for this when the answer has to be computed per request: a buffer and overlay, a join against your reference data, a cleaned and reshaped upload. See Flow API.
Address
Answers location questions against your own address data — service addresses, sites, civic records — rather than a generic global geocoder. So the answers come back with your identifiers attached.
Pick which of these it offers:
- Autocomplete — suggestions as someone types.
- Geocode — a full address in, coordinates out.
- Reverse — coordinates in, the nearest address out.
Combined
Both of the above in one product, so your callers integrate one key and one base URL instead of two.
Also available as agent tools
Once published, any product can also be made callable by AI agents, doing exactly what the API does. See Expose Tools to AI Agents.
