Each pane owns a distinct job. Here's the job, and where to do it.
Job → surface
| You want to… | Open | Docs |
|---|---|---|
| Build a map: add layers, style, label, edit features, run spatial analysis, print | Maps | Maps & Layers |
| Inspect a dataset's rows, filter and sort, edit cells, manage versions, export | Data Store | Bring In & Manage Data |
| Upload or import a source file (CSV, GeoTIFF, ZIP, Parquet…) for later use | Files | Files and Assets |
| Transform data with a flow you can run again and again | ETL | Automate with ETL |
| Design and test an API product over your data | API | Build APIs |
| Watch an area with satellite imagery and review flagged changes | Remote Sensing | Remote Sensing |
| Plan radio coverage from sites and towers | RF Coverage | RF Coverage |
| Ask questions of your project's data in plain language | Tamaat AI (panel in Maps) | Tamaat AI |
| Operate what you've published | Tamaat Server | Tamaat Server |
Three rules that settle most calls
- Data you want to look at goes in Data Store; files that feed a flow go in Files. Uploading to Files doesn't create a dataset — use "Add dataset", or read the file in an ETL flow.
- You build in the panes and publish to Server. Schedules, going live, and consumer keys all live on Tamaat Server.
- Tamaat AI is a panel, not a pane. It opens over Maps and answers from your open project. See Assistant Scope.
