Files and ETL
Upload to Files, or point an ETL "File Reader" stage at a file, and Tamaat works out the format for you:
| Family | Extensions |
|---|---|
| Delimited text | csv, tsv, txt |
| Spreadsheets | xlsx, xls, xlsm, ods |
| GeoJSON | geojson, json |
| Shapefile (zipped) | zip |
TAB table (zipped: .tab, .dat, .map, .id) | zip |
| MIF/MID table | mif with its mid, or a zip of both |
| GeoPackage | gpkg |
| Parquet | parquet, geoparquet |
| KML | kml, kmz |
| GPX | gpx |
| GML | gml |
| DXF | dxf |
| FlatGeobuf | fgb |
| Raster | tif, tiff, geotiff, cog |
A TAB table is several files that only work together, so here you zip them and add the ZIP. Whatever coordinate system the table is in, its features arrive in longitude and latitude (WGS 84).
Straight onto the map
The "Add dataset" dialog takes vector formats directly — its dropzone says "Shapefile, GeoJSON, TAB". Alongside those it also accepts .zip, .json, and the loose files of a shapefile (.shp, .shx, .dbf, .prj, .cpg) or of a TAB table (.tab, .dat, .map, .id).
A shapefile and a TAB table are each several files. Select them together in the file picker, or zip them and add the ZIP. One file of the set on its own (a lone .tab or .shp) is not added: the dialog says which files to select.
GeoTIFF and COG rasters are not added here. Upload them to Files and use them from an ETL flow or from Remote Sensing.
If some rows of a file have no location — an empty latitude or longitude, a feature with no geometry — they are left out, because a layer needs geometry. You are told how many once the upload finishes, and the dataset keeps the count. If a file cannot be added at all, the layer's row says why.
KML and KMZ files are not added here. Upload them to Files and read them with an ETL "File Reader" stage, which can write the result to a dataset.
