Use Files in ETL

Point an ETL flow at a file in Files, and see which flows depend on it.

Antes de comenzar
  • A file in Files
  • Familiarity with the ETL pane

Upload a file once and every flow that needs it can read it — no re-uploading, no emailing copies around.

Wire a file into a flow

  1. 1

In the ETL pane, add a "Read Data" stage to your flow (see Readers and Sources).

  2. 2

Open the stage and choose "Choose from Files", then pick your file. ("Upload file" and the URL option add a one-off input instead of reusing what's already in Files.)

  3. 3

That's it — the format is worked out from the file. If it's rejected, the message names what the field accepts. See Supported File Types.

Starting from Files instead

A file's detail header has a "Use in ETL" button that jumps you to the ETL pane. It doesn't preselect the file, so pick it with "Choose from Files" once you're there.

See which flows use a file

Back in Files, the "Linked ETL flows" panel lists every flow reading this file, with an "Open Workflow" link into each one. Files that flows depend on are marked "In use".

This is the panel to check before you replace or delete anything. When Meridian Geospatial's monthly sales drop arrives, Ava imports it into Files once — the ingest flow, the QA flow, and the reporting flow all read the same file, and this panel shows her exactly which three she's about to affect.
