Data Overview

Files holds your source files; Data Store holds them as tables you can query and edit.

Tamaat keeps data in two places, and which one you want depends on what you're doing with it.

Files holds source files as they arrived — CSVs, workbooks, archives, rasters. Their job is to feed ETL flows.

Data Store holds datasets: tables you can search, filter, edit cell by cell, version, share, and export. This is where you go to actually look at your data.

Data moves one way. A file becomes a dataset when an ETL flow reads it, or when you bring it in through "Add dataset" — and a dataset becomes a layer when you put it on a map.

Work with data

How it connects

Datasets go onto a map with "Open in Maps" or "Add to Project" — see Maps & Layers. Files become flow inputs through "Choose from Files" in an ETL reader — see Readers and Sources.

Is Data Store where I upload files?▾

Both panes take uploads, but they do different things with them. "Add dataset" in Data Store gives you a queryable table. Files keeps the file as a file, which is what you want when it's going to feed an ETL flow.

Where does imagery go?▾

Imagery comes in as a map layer, and shows up in Files as a read-only row so you can see where it came from.
