  • A project open in the Maps pane

Orient, select, read, repeat — this is the working rhythm of the Maps pane.

Get around

"Pan" is the default: drag to move. "Initial Extent" takes you back to where the map started, and "Zoom to Extent" lets you draw a box to zoom into. "Undo" and "Redo" step through your changes.

The toolbar can float on the map or dock to the top, bottom, or right edge — whichever suits how you work.

Select features

"Select" works three ways: click one feature with "Point Select", drag a box with "Rectangle Select", or draw freehand with "Lasso Select". The last two are covered in Spatial Selection.

While something is selected, the tool becomes "Clear Selection" and stays reachable even after you switch tools — so you can pan around and inspect without losing the ability to clear.

Read a feature

Point-select opens a popup right where you clicked, listing the feature's attributes. If your click hit features in several layers, a dropdown at the top lets you flip between them.

Right-click the map

Right-click anywhere to copy the coordinates, recenter on that spot, or pull up "Identify Features" for what's underneath.

The same menu copies, pastes, and deletes features — see Duplicate and Delete.

On the map itself

Address search sits top-right, and the basemap thumbnail bottom-right opens a picker.

Selections become records

A selection isn't just a highlight. The Data pane shows the layer's rows under "All", "Selected", and "In View" — so a lasso on the map is immediately a working set of records. The same selection can scope analytics widgets.
