Tamaat is built with open-source software and serves open data. This page lists what the Service uses that belongs to others, and the licence each comes under. We are grateful to the people who make them.
1. Open-source software
The web application that runs in your browser is built from open-source packages. The complete list, with each package's licence and the text of that licence, is at tamaat.com/legal/third-party/web-packages.json.
The programs that run on our servers are built from open-source libraries as well. The list, with each library's licence and source, is at tamaat.com/legal/third-party/rust-crates.json.
Both lists are generated from the software as it is built and are updated with each release. The map is drawn by MapLibre GL JS, and the basemap uses the Protomaps basemap styles and the PMTiles format, all under BSD licences.
2. Map data
The basemap behind every map is made from open data:
- Roads, places, buildings, land and water
- SourceOpenStreetMap contributors
- LicenceOpen Database License (ODbL) 1.0. © OpenStreetMap contributors, openstreetmap.org/copyright
- Coastlines and features shown when zoomed out
- SourceNatural Earth
- LicencePublic domain
- Building footprints and road segments read by coverage studies
- SourceOverture Maps Foundation
- LicenceODbL 1.0 for data that includes OpenStreetMap; CDLA-Permissive-2.0 otherwise
A map you export or publish keeps the attribution shown in its corner. Please keep it on anything you make from the map.
