Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: October 6, 2026

This policy sets out what Tamaat may and may not be used for, and how to tell us when someone is misusing it. It is part of the Terms of Service and applies to everyone who uses Tamaat, including people invited to an organization and people who call an API or a tool that a customer has published.

1. What is not allowed

You may not use Tamaat, or let anyone else use it, to:

  • break the law, or infringe or violate the rights of others;
  • upload, share or publish content that is unlawful, that you have no right to use, or that contains malicious code;
  • publish content that harasses, threatens or defames a person, or that exposes private information about a person without a lawful basis;
  • locate, track or monitor an identifiable person without a lawful basis and, where the law requires it, that person's consent;
  • mislead people about who made a map or a dashboard, or pass off someone else's data as your own;
  • send unsolicited bulk messages through invitations, sharing or any other feature;
  • access the Service, or another customer's data, without authorization, or test or probe its security except as the Security page allows;
  • interfere with the Service or place an unreasonable load on it, or get around limits, rate limits or access controls;
  • copy, scrape or bulk-download basemap tiles, geocoding results or other third-party data beyond what your use of a map requires;
  • resell or sublicense the Service, except by publishing your own maps, dashboards and APIs as the Service is designed to allow;
  • share a seat or an account between people, or create accounts to avoid plan limits or to obtain more than one trial.

2. What you publish

When you publish a map, a dashboard or an API, you are responsible for what it shows and for who can reach it. Keep the attribution that a data source requires. If you publish to anyone with the link, treat the content as public.

You are responsible for the API keys you issue and for the calls made with them.

3. Reporting misuse

If you believe a published map, dashboard or API, or an account, breaks this policy, write to abuse@tamaat.com. Tell us:

  • the web address of the content, or the name of the account or organization;
  • what you believe is wrong with it, and why;
  • how we can reach you.

We read every report. We may ask you for more information, and we may not be able to tell you what we did about someone else's account.

4. Copyright and other rights

If you believe content on Tamaat infringes your copyright, your trademark or another right you hold, write to legal@tamaat.com. Include:

  • your name and how to reach you, and, if you act for the owner of the right, your authority to do so;
  • the work or the right you say is infringed;
  • the web address of the content on Tamaat;
  • a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorized by the owner or by law, and that what you have told us is accurate.

We forward a valid notice to the customer who published the content, as Canadian law provides, and we may take the content offline. A customer who believes a notice is mistaken may answer it through us.

5. What we may do

If we reasonably believe this policy has been broken, we may take a published item offline, suspend a key, limit a feature, or suspend or close an account, as the Terms of Service provide. We choose the step that fits how serious the matter is.

Where we reasonably can, we tell the owners of the organization first and give them a chance to put things right. We act at once where that is needed to protect people, other customers or the Service, or where the law requires it.

We do not review what customers bring into Tamaat before they publish it, and we are not responsible for it.

6. Contact
