This workflow establishes the habit Tamaat is designed around: verify the data first, then use it in a map with a clear purpose.
- Find or bring in the source. Open Files if you need to locate an uploaded source asset. If the data already exists as a managed dataset, continue in Data Store.
- Inspect the managed dataset. Confirm expected fields, representative values, usable geometry, and downstream readiness before styling.
- Open your project. Return to Maps, open the project you created, and confirm its name matches the workflow.
- Add and organize the layer. Add the verified data, give the layer a clear name, place it in a group if needed, and set visibility.
- Inspect the result. Navigate to a representative area, select a feature, and compare geometry and attributes with Data Store.
- Make the map communicative. Apply labels or symbols only when they make the intended pattern easier to understand. Keep the first map simple.
Outcome
You now have a project that connects a verified managed dataset to a purposeful map layer.
