A project is the working container for a map. It keeps the layers, map context, and project activity for one piece of work together.

Create the project

  1. Open your Tamaat workspace.
  2. Choose New Project.
  3. Enter a required Project Name that describes the work, such as Downtown asset review.
  4. Add an optional Description so another team member can understand the project’s purpose.
  5. Choose Create Project.

The new project opens as the active map workspace. You can now add layers without mixing this work into another project.

Choose a useful project scope

Create a separate project when the operational purpose, audience, layer stack, or publishing destination is distinct. A project name should describe the decision or workstream—not just the software feature being used.
