Tamaat keeps one shell around every job: a rail of panes on the left, the work in the middle, and the Maps home as the place you always start and return to. Learn two nouns — project and pane — and the interface stops needing explanation.
Project and pane
- A project is one map-centered body of work. It mounts layers from your shared inventory of datasets and files, and one project is active at a time.
- A pane is the surface for one job. Switching panes changes the task, not your project.
Your datasets, files, ETL flows, APIs, and web maps are shared across projects — mounted where they are needed rather than copied. That shared inventory is reached through the panes that own it (Data Store, Files, ETL, API), not through a separate destination.
The Maps home
Opening Tamaat lands you here, and clicking Maps in the rail always brings you back, from anywhere.
Continue picks up where you left off. All maps shows everything you can open, each card carrying a live thumbnail of the map itself, alongside a New project card to start something fresh.
The top bar here is deliberately bare — breadcrumb, search, notifications, and your avatar. Map tools, the Comments toggle, and Tamaat AI belong to a map, so they appear once you open one.
The pane rail
The rail groups panes by what they are for, with dividers between the groups:
- Maps, ETL, API, Remote Sensing, RF Coverage — the authoring panes. Drag to reorder this group; the order is yours and persists locally.
- Data Store, Files — your shared inventory.
- Server, Settings — delivery and configuration.
The Project menu
Inside an open map, a tile menu titled Project handles project lifecycle without leaving the map: "New Project", "Open Project", "Publish to Server" ("Cut a release into Non-production", showing the current versions, e.g. Prod v3 · Non-prod v4), and "Close Project".
Tamaat AI
The "Tamaat AI" chat panel lives with an open map — it opens with "How can I help?" and answers from your active project's real layers and attributes. Setup and scope are covered in Tamaat AI.
Plan, usage, and members
Storage and usage against your plan, plus billing and team membership, live in Settings under Organization → Plan & billing and Members & sharing. See Subscription and Usage and Organization Management.
Publishing
Everything above is your own work. When something is ready for other people, "Publish to Server" publishes it — and your edits after that don't change what they see until you publish again. See Tamaat Server.
