Workspace versus project
- A workspace is the shared team environment and inventory.
- A project is one map-centered body of work.
- A pane is the product surface for a particular job, such as data inspection or ETL design.
Use the workspace overview to find existing projects and resources before creating duplicates.
Read the shell from left to right
- Use the activity bar to switch between Maps, Data Store, Files, ETL, APIs, and other enabled product areas.
- Use the layers area to control the contents and organization of the active project.
- Use the map canvas to navigate, select, inspect, edit, measure, and analyze geographic features.
- Use the toolbar and contextual panels for actions that apply to the current map or selection.
- Use the activity rail and project tools to follow project context, collaboration, and related work.
Choose a pane by job
- Maps — compose and inspect a map
- Data Store — inspect managed datasets, fields, and records
- Files — manage uploaded source files and reusable assets
- ETL — build repeatable data transformations
- API — publish and monitor data-backed services
- Network Studio — run cellular coverage workflows when enabled
Keep your context
Switching panes changes the task surface, not the purpose of your project. Return to Maps when you need to see how data, style, and analysis come together geographically.
