Before you start
  • Shared or version-aware layer

Map Builder supports version-aware GIS work so users do not have to manage endless copies of the same file just to protect production state.

Working versions and published versions

Users can maintain:

  • an active version for the current project workflow
  • a published version for web-map exposure and downstream consumption

This lets teams improve data without immediately disturbing the version that is already published.

Collaboration

Layer owners can share layers with other users. When edit privileges are granted, collaborative editing becomes possible inside the platform without moving files around by hand.

Why this matters

This is one of the strongest differences between ad hoc GIS file management and a platform-based GIS workflow. Tamaat lets teams keep the work in one place while still separating working state from published state.
